Colorful Leaves Treats

Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 (10 ounce) package marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies
  • Canned frosting or decorating gel

Directions

  1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  2. Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.
  3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool slightly. Using cookie cutters coated with cooking spray cut into leaf shapes. Decorate with frosting for leaf veins and outlines. Best if served the same day.
  • MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
  • In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.
  • For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
  • 1 jar (7oz.) marshmallow creme can be substituted for marshmallows.
  • Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.
  • Store no more than two days at room temperature in airtight container. To freeze, place in layers separated by wax paper in airtight container. Freeze for up to 6 weeks. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.

Return of The Great Exchange!

Back by popular demand, we'll be hosting The Great Exchange on Tuesday, May 11th at 7:00pm. Join us for goods and services provided by sisters in the ward to be auctioned off to the highest bidder! We'll also have yummy treats and an exchange table, so bring your taste buds and those items sitting at the bottom of your closet that you no longer want but that someone else will. Childcare will also be provided.

Suzanne Hart is our presenter and will use her professional background to provide information and tips on improving interpersonal communication. Come with questions and suggestions for topics of future discussions when this group meets again on July 29th (every 5th Thursday).

Papercraft!

Join us for April's Papercraft Group on Tuesday, April 6th at 7:00pm in the Relief Society room. We'll be working on our calendar project... to participate, just bring a stack of 12"x12" paper, adhesive and a Cricut mat if you have one. If you don't want to make a calendar but want to see how the Cricut (a personal electronic cutting machine) works, join us for a demonstration. See you there!

Last month's dinner club enjoyed tempura and teriyaki at a little Japanese restaurant in Daly City's Westlake district. A few brave sould even tried tempura ice cream for dessert (it will not be a repeat order :).

At the February dinner club, sisters enjoyed lots of steaks, ribs, prime rib and shrimp at the Outback Restaurant (and were too stuffed to order dessert). And as always seems to be the case, they ran into some familiar faces at another table - the Lee's celebrating their 25th anniversary!

Stake UCSF Doll Work Day

Mark your calendars, sharpen your scissors and join your fellow sisters at the next stake UCSF Doll Work Day: Saturday, February 27th @ 9am at the stake center. Come ready to sew dolls & their hospitals gowns, stuff and stitch them up and put on finishing touches. Bring scissors, sewing machines and any finished work you've done in advance at home.
